Restaurant Tycoon really **set a foundation for the subcategory** of restaurant-building games on the platform. Its age shows compared to newer titles within the series, as it is lacking depth beyond its financing system, but it is still a solid game. **Having said that, for anyone just starting out in the series, I would recommend choosing a newer title for a more interesting gameplay loop.**
